Roy Temples

Roy Houston Temples, 64, and a resident of Pine, died at 2:51 a.m. Wednesday March 30, 2016 at Good Samaritan Living Center.
He was a longtime member of Pine Missionary Baptist Church and a former crane operator for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development. Roy loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He often passed the time relaxing and drinking coffee on his front porch. Roy loved baseball and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play baseball and football. He was always a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Wynetta Gerald Temples of Pine; mother, Katie Beall Temples of Pine; son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Anna Temples of Pine; daughter and son-in-law, Christie and John Bourgeois of Pine; four grandchildren, Hunter Temples and Logan Temples, Tristan Bourgeois and Grant Bourgeois; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Johnny and Joyce Temples; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Theresa and Jerry McKenzie; also numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Everett Temples; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Talmadge and Fannie Gerald; maternal grandparents, Randolph and Ruby Beall; paternal grandparents Rudolph and Melvinee Temples; and best friend Marshall Wayne Carter.
Visitation was held at Pine Missionary Baptist Church on Thursday, March 31 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will also be held after 9 a.m. on Friday. A funeral service will be held in the church at 10 a.m. Friday with Elder Gerald King, Elder Glenn Stuart and Bro. Larry Mizell officiating. Burial will follow in the New Gerald Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Hunter Temples, Logan Temples, Derrick McKenzie, Rory Beall, Elton Miley and Jeff Thomas.
Honorary pallbearers are Tristan Bourgeois, Grant Bourgeois, Bennie Buff, George Ladner, Johnny Gerald and Jerry McKenzie.
