Joyce Fortenberry

Joyce Marie Fortenberry was born Jan. 30, 1964, of the late Gorgeanna Fortenberry and Willie Crain.

She attended Franklinton Public School.

At an early age she joined Winan United Methodist Church. Later on in life, she joined World of Faith until God called her home. She also would attend other churches because she had a passion for the Lord.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son, LaDaryl Fortenberry of Houston; one daughter, Jorgeanna Fortenberry of Franklinton.

She was raised with her first cousins as sisters and brothers, JoAnna Bickham, Wysonia McClain, Doris Simmons, Jeanette Brumfield, Jenard Fortenberry, Jawelene Jenkins and Rodney Fortenberry, all of Franklinton; one granddaughter, Zeriyah Foretnberry; a host of other cousins and friends who loved her dearly. To know Joyce is to love her with her sweet personality and beautiful smile. She will be sadly missed by everyone who came in touch with her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gorgeanna Fortenberry and Willie Crain; her aunt who raised her, Inez Fortenberry; cousins, Linda Fortenberry and Dorothy Fortenberry.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 2, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 3, at 3 p.m. at Sweet Home Church of Christ Holiness USA with Rev. Jacob Tate officiating and Elder Washington Drake host church pastor. Interment will be held at the Winan Cemetery.
