Franklinton boys, girls win at Oak Harbor Golf Club

SLIDELL — Franklinton’s boys and girls golf teams had another successful week in the Northlake Golf League, as both were victorious Wednesday at Oak Harbor Golf Club in Slidell.

The Demons’ top four golfers recorded a score of 408 to capture this week’s stop.

Franklinton won the event by 10 strokes over Loranger in the five-team field.

Lakeshore was third with a 433, followed by Salmen’s 476 and Pearl River’s 492.

Franklinton’s Zach Ginn finished runner up among 24 golfers with a 79. Loranger’s Kristofer Kerr won the tournament with a 71.

Loranger’s Trevor Fleming posted a 98 for third while Lakeshore’s Nick Pizzuto was fourth at 99.

Franklinton’s Dillen Reeves and Salmen’s Nick Himber tied for the fifth spot, as both carded a 102.

Also for the Demons, Cameron Gatewood had a 113. Cort McCullough was just a stroke behind and Parker Watson finished with a 125.

The Lady Demons also won the team competition. Their two top golfers for this week, Faith Chauvin and Hannah Grace Henn combined to post a 235 and Franklinton won by a single stroke over runner-up Salmen in the three-team field.

Lakeshore had a 279 for third place.

Chavin finished with a 108 to take runner-up. Salmen’s Lyllian Mirelez won individual honors by posting a 105, as eight girls competed.

Henn was third with a 127 and Rayah Spinks had a 128 to finish fourth.
