Stuart Parker, the chief financial officer of the Bogalusa YMCA, said the Y is still helping victims of the March 11 flood with goods and services.
Parker said the Y has coordinated with Catholic charities based in New Orleans and the Red Cross, and the Y is still accepting donations.
“Mostly what we need is cleaning supplies,” he said.
Besides cleaning supplies, people can pick up baby supplies, water, food and clothing.
The Bogalusa Y is located at 411 Ave. B.
Shirley Thomas was among several people at the Y Monday morning getting a few things for her home.
“Mainly cleaning supplies,” she said. “I got some water in the house on the floors and, to me, that’s the worst because of mildew.”
Thomas said she’s looking at replacing her floors, though she would like to do more.
“If I had the money I’d build me a mountain and put a house on it,” she said. “The bleach is handy though. It sterilizes everything.”
