Now that Washington Parish has qualified for federal relief, workers with the Federal Emergency Management Agency will set up a temporary office in the parish.

Just where that office will be, however, is still a mystery as of Thursday.

Parish emergency management director Thomas Thiebaud said if residents would like to register their claim directly with FEMA, the best thing to do would be to call their toll-free line.

“FEMA is coming to the parish, but they haven’t made it yet to set up a location,” Theibaud said. “The quickest way to start a claim is to call their 1-800 number, 1-800-621-3362.”
