David Lee Herring, 70, a resident of Bogalusa, born on Dec. 16, 1945, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy Blount Herring of Bogalusa; three daughters, Heidi Herring Holbrook (Johnny) of Denham Springs, Helaina Herring Damon (John) of Madison, Miss., and Heather Herring Bravo (Brian) of Ponchatoula; a step-daughter, Kristi Mizell; his mother, Dorothy Hyde Thomas; two brothers, Bruce Herring of Bossier City, and Rodney Thomas of Franklinton; eight grandchildren, Riley Holbrook, Noah Holbrook, Darby Damon, David Damon, Dean Damon, Demi Damon, Drew Damon and Beau Bravo; step-grandchildren, Brandon Mizell (Taylor) and Courtney Trosclair (Josh); and a step-great-grandson, Caymen Mizell.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda Faith Brock Herring; and his fathers, James Bruce Herring and James Edgar Thomas.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Friday, March 18, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Visitation will continue at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 19, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. The funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Andrew Voss officiating. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
