Bogalusa director of public works James Hall said some residents will experience a water outage next week.

Last week, residents near Rio Grande Street and Borgne Avenue experienced a temporary water outage as the city replaced a fireplug. Next week, Hall said, the city will change a hydrant at the corner of Montgomery Street and North Border Drive. Hall said the work would be done either Monday or Tuesday, weather permitting.

“The water will be off from Highway 21 to Montgomery Street along North Border Drive,” he said.

Hall said residents should expect a shutoff of about four to five hours. The work will start sometime after 8 a.m.

“We will give everyone a chance to get the kids to school and then we’ll shut the water off,” he said.
