Hubert Carter, a resident of Bogalusa, 85, born on Sept. 14, 1930, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Lucille Ellis Carter of Bogalusa; one daughter, Lynn DeLeon (Andy) of Bogalusa; two sisters, Mildred Pittman of Bogalusa, and Eugene Corkern of Enon; three grandchildren, Melissa Crain (David) of Bogalusa, Kevin DeLeon (Amanda) of Bogalusa, and Brad DeLeon (Laynette) of Lake Jackson, Texas; three great-grandchildren, David Lavell Crain II, Emilia Tschen and Cecilia Tschen.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gordan Carter and Myrtle Jones Carter.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Saturday, Feb. 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The funeral services will be at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Pete Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Baptist Church Cemetery.
