The office of Attorney General Jeff Landry announced that William Secrist, 23, of Franklinton, was charged with one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile, three counts of felony carnal knowledge, and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

A joint effort between the Attorney General’s Cyber Crime Unit (CCU) and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office led to Secrist’s arrest.

According to a press release from Landry’s office, investigators received information on Wednesday, Feb. 17, that Secrist was having an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old female, in violation of state law. After verifying the relationship, investigators obtained an arrest warrant.

On Thursday, Feb. 18, Secrist was arrested by the CCU and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail.
