Amy Michelle Strahan, 25, a resident of Covington, passed away Jan. 28, 2016 at her residence.

Amy graduated with honors in 2008 from Cinco Ranch High School in Katy, Texas, and continued her education at Texas A&M, where she earned her bachelor of science degree in petroleum engineering. She loved scuba diving and being adventurous and traveled to many exotic places. She also loved her constant companion Kovu that she adopted.

Amy is survived by her mother and stepfather, Shirley L. (James Michael) Cavanaugh; her father, Harold Stanley Strahan; three sisters and their husbands, Amber (Stamper) Scott, Alaina (Mike) Keen and Misty (Jeff) Dickens; a brother, Shane Boler; a stepbrother, Jeremy Cavanaugh; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services were Tuesday, Feb. 2, at Westside Emmanuel Baptist Church with visitation starting at 10 a.m. and remaining open until the service at 2 p.m. The Rev. Marcus Rosa officiated the service.

Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
