Mr. Henry James “Shrimp” Mims, 67, of Bogalusa, departed this life on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Mrs. Henrietta Hammond of Bogalusa; four daughters, Akelah Butler of New Orleans, Kelli Robinson of Watertown, N.Y., Hailey Mims of Bogalusa and Whitney Robinson of Crowley; one sister, Debra (Lee) Henry of Bogalusa; two grandsons, Tyrie Peters of Bogalusa and Kelson Osby of Watertown; two nephews, Cedric Hammond of Houston, Texas, and Delvin (Kandra) Harry of LaCombe; a special devoted friend, Glenda Young of Bogalusa; special friends, Jerome Taylor, Jessie Thomas and Robert Hicks of Bogalusa, and Larry Gibson of Los Angeles, Calif.; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Henry was preceded in death by his father, James Mims; sister, Mozella Hammond; brother, Charles Hammond; grandparents, Dave and Viola Mims; special cousin, Beverly Timmons; and close friend, Melvin Torrence.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 21, at the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.
The funeral service will be held Friday, Jan. 22, at the funeral home at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Theodore Newman officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bogalusa Cemetery.
