Quintun L. Magee was born on Jan. 4, 2016, at 6:24 p.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital, and was the first baby of 2016 born at the hospital.
Parents Shondreia and Richard Magee arrived at the hospital at 6 a.m. that morning, just as Labor and Delivery nurse Emily Peoples was beginning her shift.
“The entire staff has been so friendly, especially Emily,” Shondreia Magee said. “She took great care of me for my entire labor.”
Quintun was also welcomed by big brother Jayden, 6, and big sister Drahcir, 14. Magee said she feels likes Quintun completes their family.
Dr. Maria Buenaflor, with Our Lady of the Angels Obstetrics and Gynecology, delivered Quintun, with the help of LSU Rural Family Medicine residents Dr. Gabriel Agbanyim and Dr. Christie Caceres.
“We are thankful that we chose Our Lady of the Angels, and we would encourage anyone in the area to at least consider choosing them as well,” Magee said. “I was skeptical of having my baby here, not knowing the level of care, but I have been blown away. It feels like home here.”
Our Lady of the Angels Hospital presented the Magee family with a New Year baby gift basket full of baby goodies.
