Mae Bell Barker Brumfield

Sis. Mae Bell Barker Brumfield passed away on Jan. 1, 2016 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington.

She was a faithful member of the New Jerusalem Baptist Church until her health began to fail. She was a member of the senior choir, senior mission, Sunday School Class #III and pastor aide.

She leaves to cherish her memories: three children, Shirley Gatlin of Franklinton, Priscilla (Caral George) Lewis of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Cardell (Teressa) Brumfield of Slidell; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Flossie Barker of Franklinton, Freddie (Chester) Carmichael of Cameria Height, N.Y., and Patricia (Calvin) Foster of Brooklyn; three sisters-in-law, Florence Baker and Gerealdean Baker, both of Franklinton, and Dorothy Brumfield of Kentwood; two brothers-in-law, Thomas Brumfield of Kentwood, and Percy Brumfield of Biloxi, Miss.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 8, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton.

The funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m., at New Jerusalem Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Causey Sr., pastor, officiating. Internment will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
