On July 1964, Lavetta Magee Brumfield was born to the late Jeanette Dawson and Charles Ray Brumfield. She departed this life on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015.

Lavetta joined Greater Bogalusa Full Gospel Church under the leadership of Pastor Jerry Newton, where she remained until her death.

Lavetta leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Albert Brumfield of Bogalusa; three sisters, Ladedra (Clarence) Abrams of Franklinton, Sharon (Carl) Chambers of Milwaukee, Wis., and Toni Blackburn of Atlanta, Ga.; three brothers, Javon Magee of Bogalusa, and Donnie (Tonya) Brumfield and Terrell (Cheryl) Brumfield, both of Franklinton; three aunts, Barbra Magee, Sherly Anthony and Phyllis Owns; four uncles, Gary Magee, Robert Magee, Donald Ray Magee and Roy Magee; a devoted friend, Alexander Allen; and a host of other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, Jan. 8, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, at Greater Bogalusa Full Gospel Church, located at 814 Union Ave., with pastor Jerry L. Newton Sr. officiating. Interment will be at the Bogalusa Cemetery.
