Eirvin Lightell Jr. was born on Oct. 7, 1957, in New Orleans, to Mr. and Mrs. Eirvin Lightell Sr., and later moved to Bogalusa. He departed this life Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at his residence in Bogalusa.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Christine M. Lightell of New Orleans; three children, Donnicka (Kenneth) Pritchett, Sollecia Chase and Jermaine (LaShawn) Ellis, all of New Orleans; two sisters, Shelia Lightell May of Bogalusa and Edith Lightell of Lake Charles; two brothers, Bruce Lightell and Leonard Lightell, both of Bogalusa; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eirvin (Leona) Lightell Sr. of Bogalusa; six grandchildren, Devon Rhinehart, Derrick Rhinehart, Da’Bryant Rhinehart, De’Arie Cheffen, Trezshure Davis and Trenton Ellis, all of New Orleans; a grandmother-in-law, Trinity Ellis of New Orleans; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Lightell.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 9, at the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa at 10 a.m., with Brother Thomas Baptist officiating. Interment will follow in the Bogalusa Cemetery.
