Walter Franklin

Walter Emmet Franklin was born Oct. 21, 1938 in New Orleans, to the late Rev. Albert E. and Beulah Franklin.

Walter attended school in his early years in Baton Rouge, later moved to Angie, where he graduated from Wesley Ray High School. Walter was married to the late Lena Mae Trouiller Franklin of Bogalusa, and they later moved to New Orleans.

Walter worked as a construction worker until he retired and later moved back to Bogalusa.

Walter later joined Thirkield United Methodist Church in Bogalusa, where his father, Rev. A. E. Franklin was once pastor.

On Monday, Dec. 28, the Lord called Walter home. He leaves to cherish his memories his four children: Cynthia Mark Bickham of Angie, Llewellyn Franklin of New Orleans, Cassandra (Ray) Bolds of Alpharetta, Ga., and Rhonda Franklin of New Orleans; grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Wilbert C. Franklin of Bogalusa, and one sister, Joyce (Supt. Leslie) Fields of Varnado, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Albert and Beulah Franklin Sr.; his wife, Lena Mae Trouiller Franklin; two siblings, Albert E. Franklin Jr. and Margaret Franklin; and one grandson, Ray Bolds Jr.

Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 4, from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 11 a.m., at Thirkield United Methodist Church with the Rev. Nolan Robinson officiating.

Interment will be at Bogalusa Cemetery.
