The owner of Moseley’s Gold Buyers in Bogalusa was arrested Monday afternoon and charged with one felony count of obstruction of justice and being a principal to simple battery and a principal to theft of goods under $500.

Buck Moseley, 73, was arrested after an incident at Dollar General at 303 Shenandoah St. in Bogalusa.

Also charged in the case is Arica Runfalo, 26, of Bogalusa. She was charged with simple battery and theft of goods under $500. She bonded out of the city jail on Monday.

“(Runfalo) went into the Dollar General around 4:30 p.m. and allegedly stole a few items and put them in Buck’s car,” Bogalusa Police PFC Jeff Bergeron said. “She went back in and was confronted by the manager. The manager locked the door to keep her inside. Buck pleaded with the manager and offered the manager anything not to get her to report it.”

Bergeron said Moseley unlocked the door to the store, allowing Runfalo to escape. In doing so, Bergeron said she grabbed the manager’s arm, and pushed her way out the door.

“The store manager is new, but they’re working very hard at catching shoplifters,” Bergeron said.

Bergeron said Moseley will be transferred to the Washington Parish Jail.
