Mrs. Willie Mae Spurlock passed away at the age of 84 on Monday, Nov. 30, 2015 at Ochsner Hospital in Slidell.
She leaves to cherish her memories, six sons and six daughters, Alborn Spurlock of Franklinton, LaGenda Spurlock of Los Angeles, Calif., Shirlyon (Robert) Brown of Franklinton, Jerome (Ruby) Spurlock of Clinton, Md., Annette (Fred) Warren of Franklinton, Carolyn, Gregory and Darrell Spurlock, all of Atlanta, Ga., Ronald (LaQuita) Spurlock of Harvey, Emilia (Stephon) Fairley of Poplarville, Miss., Keith (Michelle) Spurlock of Sugar Hill, Ga., and Tangela Spurlock-Love of Union City, Ga. She leaves her only brother, Joseph Blevins and only sister, Eunice Johnson, both of Chicago, Ill.; one sister-in-law, Rosie B. Spurlock-Brumfield; 25 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives; and the entire Bethel Church family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Odis Raborn Spurlock; her parents, Joseph and Mercides Leonard-Calahan; her stepfather, Reverend Hollis Calahan; one stepsister, Annie Mae Collier-Hunter; one grandson, Johnny Blackburn; and one granddaughter, Kimberly Dione Sims.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 11, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Crain and Sons Funeral Home chapel.
The funeral service will be Saturday, Dec. 12, at 11 a.m., at Bethel Church of Christ Holiness USA with Elder Jarvis Lee, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Bethel Cemetery.
