Doris Crain

Doris Elaine Crain, 64, a resident of Franklinton, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 2015.

She was a resident of Pine Crest State School for 45 years, and moved back and lived in Franklinton for the past 10 years.

She is survived by one sister, Annette Batson of Bogalusa; two brothers, Lester Crain (Tillie) of Abita Springs and Johnny Crain Sr. (Peggy) of Bogalusa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mart James Crain and Annie Louise Ingram Crain; sisters, Claudia Branch, Winnie Netto, Elgie Taylor, Linda Duncan, Alice Terrell and Darlene Gerald; and her brothers, Horace, Preston, David, Ricky and James Crain.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers, Kim Hartzog, Debbie Brock and staff with the Franklinton Association for Challenged Citizens.

Visitation was held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Sunday, Nov. 29, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with funeral services beginning at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Keith Branch presiding.

Pallbearers were Johnny Crain Jr., Brian Crain, Greg Crain, Todd Wells, Lindy Terrell, Eddie Harris and Gralin Taylor. Burial followed in Paige Cemetery.
