Schools to host veterans’ events

On Wednesday, several different schools and businesses will host Veterans Day events. Some of those activities include:

• At Ben’s Ford, the program begins at 9:30 a.m. in the school gymnasium. All veterans are invited to come and be recognized for the service they have given.

Bogalusa High School will conduct a Veterans Day program at 2 p.m. in the BHS Auditorium.  Immediately following the program, all community veterans, community leaders and attendees are invited to remain for refreshments.

Bowling Green’s annual program has lunch at 12:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Veterans and their spouses are welcome. Immediately following lunch, a brief program will be in the gym.

Franklinton High School hosts its annual Veterans Day breakfast and patriotic program on Wednesday beginning at 7:15 a.m. in the school library.

• The student council of Franklinton Junior High School invites all veterans, both active and inactive, to join in on the program at 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday for a special program.

Varnado’s program begins with breakfast in the cafeteria at 8 a.m., and will then move to the gym for a special program at 9 a.m. All veterans are invited to attend.

Pine Jr./Sr. High School will be hosting its annual Veterans Day program on Wednesday. A breakfast for veterans will be served at 8:30 a.m. in the cafeteria, with the program immediately following.

• The program at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital is an 11:30 a.m. prayer service at the main entrance. All veterans are invited.
