Joseph R. Sartin, 53, of Bogalusa, passed away at his home on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015.

Joseph Sartin was born Nov. 27, 1961, in Bogalusa. He attended Bogalusa High School and later received his GED. Throughout his years, Joseph has worked for the Bogalusa City School System, City of Bogalusa, Jenkins Building Supply Store, etc.

He is survived by his two stepchildren, Javorious Ishman and Jaimeka Brumfield-Ishman; one sister, Jusalyn Elaine Sartin of Hyattsville, Md.; one aunt, Mrs. J.R. Porter of Waynesboro, Miss.; one brother-in-law, J.D. Godbolt Jr. of Bogalusa; four special nieces, Natasha (Marquel) Oatis and Passion Godbolt, both of Bogalusa, and LaTisha McCoy and LaShandra Smith, both of Waynesboro; five special nephews, Justin (Shamika) Godbolt of Bogalusa, Dantel Smith of Waynesboro, Alec Smith of Syracuse, N.Y., Matthew Smith of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Moses Smith of Memphis, Tenn.; and a host of other relatives and special friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Dequila Ishman Sartin; mother, Dorothy Lane Sartin; one sister, Jacqueline S. Godbolt; two aunts, Dixie Lane and Mary Lundy; and one uncle, the Rev. J.R. Porter.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 13, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa. The funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, with the Rev. James Magee officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the Robinson Cemetery in Angie.
