Larry Seal

Larry Wilkinson Seal was born to Ruth Magee Seal and W. W. “Fuzz” Seal in Bogalusa on Nov. 23, 1935. He died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015.

He graduated from high school at Chamberlain Hunt Military Academy in Port Gibson, Miss. He was a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University and Northeast Pharmacy School in Monroe.

Until his father’s death, they owned and operated Seal Drug Store while also working part-time for the Washington-St. Tammany Charity Hospital. In 1980, Larry became pharmacy director for the hospital and sold the drug store to the Charlie Holcomb family.  He remained with the hospital through the merger of the LSU Charity Hospital and the Bogalusa Medical Center, and retired in 2003.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Gary Seal.

Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Margaret Scoggins Seal; his son, Larry W. Seal II of Bogalusa; his daughter, Patricia Seal Comardelle of Baton Rouge; three grandchildren, Kenneth W. Seal, Jennifer Seal (Sam) Ashley and Jesse F. Seal; and four great-grandchildren, Hunter and Katelyn Ashley, and Canna R. May, all of Bogalusa, and Hayden Fallon Seal of LaPlace.

A memorial service will be held at the E.S.M. Methodist Church at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31, with visitation at 11 a.m. until time of the service. Following the service, a reception will be held at the church’s fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the E.S.M. Methodist Church, The Magnolia chapter of the Humane Society or any charity of choice.
