Gwendolyn “Wanda” Mark, 60, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015, in New Brunswick, N.J.

Gwendolyn “Wanda” Mark was born to the union of Luther Walter Mark and Earnestine (Jackson) Mark on Oct. 6, 1955. She was the baby girl of seven children, four girls and three boys.

“Wanda” as she was called attended school in the Bogalusa School System. She graduated from Bogalusa High School in the class of 1973. She also attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, and Meadows Draughon Business College in New Orleans.

Gwendolyn was preceded in death by her father, Luther Walter Mark; her mother, Earnestine (Jackson) Mark; her beloved son, Jonas Phillipe Mark Gholar; and her loving nephew, Larry Gerard Dillon.

Gwendolyn leaves to mourn her passing: three sisters, Erma Gordon of New Brunswick, Margaret (LeVarn) Brown of New Brunswick, and Deloris Katherine Stokes, Lynwood, Calif.; and three brothers, Holman Mark of New Brunswick, Roosevelt Mark of New Brunswick, and Phillip Mark of Bogalusa. She leaves two birth children, Julian Tate of Franklinton and Jameen McClain of Franklinton; two aunts, Melvina (Glimmie) Jackson of Bogalusa and Ruth Jackson (James) Joyner of Somerset, N.J.; and a host of nieces, cousins, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 30, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Cook-Richmond funeral home. The funeral service will be on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 10 a.m., in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Christopher Matthews officiating. Interment will be in Robinson Cemetery in Varnado.
