A seat is about to open up in the Bogalusa City Council, after District D Councilwoman Malinda White won Saturday’s election as state representative for District 75.
Bogalusa Mayor Wendy Perrette said the city will conduct a special election in March to fill White’s seat. Before that election, the council will nominate someone from the district to serve in White’s place after she begins her state House term in January.
The city had a similar occurrence in 2011 when Johni Miles resigned. Her term was filled by Robin Day until the election. Doug Ritchie won the at-large election in the spring of 2012.
