Dixie Day Boyet, 95, passed away peacefully at Landmark Nursing Center of Hammond, on Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at 3:16 p.m.

She was born on May 4, 1920, in Poplarville, Miss., and resided in Bogalusa and Ponchatoula prior to moving to Hammond where she was a resident of Landmark for 10 years.

Dixie was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Fosh Boyet; her parents, Ina Cothran and Hardy H. Day; her sister, Doris Day Boyet, and her brothers, Robert Day, Van Day, and Jerry Day.

Dixie is survived by her children, Sue Boyet (Emanuel), Robert “Bobby” Boyet (Jo), Nancye “Nan” Boyet Hoover (Wayne), and Kevin “Craig” Boyet (Pam); her sister, Lizbeth Day Laurrell; and many grandchildren, many more great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd., in Hammond, on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 10 a.m. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until service time.
