Sister Elaine Davis Wilson, 72, departed this life on Oct. 16, 2015, at the Riverside Medical Center in Franklinton.

A loving soul, she was born to the late Luther and Vieda Thompson Davis on Jan. 9, 1933.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Richard Earl Wilson and Lionell “Bear” Wade Wilson; one grandson, Brandon Ruffin; her parents, Luther and Vieda Thompson Davis; her stepmother, Ms. Smiley Davis; four brothers, Willie Jay Davis, Bobby Davis, Joe Nathan Davis and her stepbrother, Alfred Dawson; and five sisters, Myrtis Lee Johnson, Emma Lee Davis, Lucille Dillon, Mercedes Gaines and Nancy Handy.

Sister Elaine leaves to cherish her memories her four daughters, Linda Long of Franklinton, Shirley Long of Jackson, Miss., Roma Fagan of Bogalusa, and Amy Wilson of Covington; five sons, Willie Wilson of Gretna, Gilbert Wilson of Franklinton, Dennis Wilson of Tylertown, Miss., Charles (Ashanta) Wilson of Houston, Texas, and Andra (LaTonyette) Wilson of Franklinton; two sisters, Alnethea (Latimore) Ball and Ozzie (Lester) Ratliff of New Orleans; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 23, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. with a family hour from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m., at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton.

Funeral service will be Saturday, Oct. 24, at 10 a.m. at Sweet Home Church of Christ Holiness, USA, located at 2200 Greenlaw Ave., in Franklinton, with the Rev. Washington Drake officiating. Interment will be held in the Sweet Home Church Cemetery in Franklinton.
