On Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, Minister Patrick Burton exchanged his earthly life for eternal life in heaven.

Patrick was born on March 10, 1971, to Bobby Don and Lillie Dean Burton in Bogalusa.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Bernice Burton; three children, Daterryon (Scootie) Burton, Shalla Burton, and Jaylon Burton and one godson, Dalian Griffith; five sisters, Stacy Warner of Lancaster, Texas, Kendra (Glenn) Tennyson of Desoto, Texas, La’Neaka (Garland) Woodard of Dallas, Texas, and Brenda Taylor and Glenda Magee of Atlanta, Ga.; four brothers, Kenneth Conerly of Ontario, Calif., Lionel Burton of Covington, Bernard Burton of Metairie, Donald Ray Anthony of Ville Platte. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Ms. Burlene Fortenberry; three brothers-in-law, Richard (Rosie) Fortenberry, Lendale (Danielle) Fortenberry and Donell (Yasmine) Weary; and two sisters-in-law, Jennifer Fortenberry, Latasha Fortenberry, all of McKinney, Texas. He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, in addition to dearest friends, LaDrado and Lisa Guilford, and Kevin and Patricia Amey.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Don Burton; mother, Lillie D. Burton; and brother, Bobby Earl Burton.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 16, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a family hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17, at noon at Bethel Church of Christ Holiness USA with Elder Jarvis Lee, host church pastor and Elder Byron Conerly, officiating. Interment will be held at Bethel Church Cemetery.
