Exhibits for the adult fine arts show for the Washington Parish Free Fair will be taken on Sunday, Oct. 18, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Entries must remain in place until the Sunday after the fair, Oct. 25, when entries may be picked up from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m., all at the Fine Arts Building on the fairgrounds in Franklinton. Entries are limited to residents of Washington Parish from age 18 up, who are encouraged to enter the show.

All paintings must be wired for hanging with screw eyes and wire – no saw tooth hangers. Regular stretched canvases must be framed. Gallery wrap and museum wrap canvases do not need frames. A card must be attached to the back stating exhibitor’s name, title of entry, address, telephone number and medium used. All entries, professional and non professional cannot have been previously exhibited at the fair.

Sizes, including the frame, cannot be smaller than 9 by 12 inches or larger than 44 by 44 inches. No exceptions. A limit of four entries per person will be accepted, but no more than two paintings can be entered in the non-original category. Four  original paintings may be entered. No nudity, violent, offensive or sexual subjects will be accepted.

Paint by number exhibits will be referred to the creative crafts division. All decisions by the entering committee will be final. See the official fair catalog for other art entries, pottery, sculpture, and more.

Janice Branch is chairman of the fine arts division and is assisted by members of the Washington Art Association. The fair association provides adequate protection for all artwork with 24 hour guard service, but assumes no liability in cases of fire, storm damage or any acts beyond its control. It also assumes no liability for paintings left beyond the pick-up time.
