Survey will be Saturday

Bogalusa Mayor Wendy Perrette is asking for residents to participate in a survey so the city will be able to benefit.
On Saturday, city workers are scheduled to knock on 224 homes from Long Avenue to Columbia Street to Byrd Avenue and ask residents household questions. Surveying will begin at 8:30 a.m.
The money generated from the survey will be used to replace old water pipes in the Richardsontown area.
Perrette said the Louisiana Community Development Block Grant could generate approximately $2 million to $3 million. The grant is used to assist low- to moderate-income families.
“City employees, men and women, will be coming around in their city shirts. This is a legitimate thing they will be doing,” Perrette said. “They will be asking household questions. This will in no way affect your check.”
A similar project was done in the Terrace last year. The grant generated $800,000 and the city paid the engineering firm $9,600.
