Staff Sgt. Robert Hill

Staff Sgt. Robert Lee Hill, 79, of Bogalusa, passed away Sept. 5, 2015, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, surrounded by family.

Robert was born Jan. 10, 1936. He served 24 years in the U.S. Army and retired after 20 years at Rayburn Correctional in Angie.

Robert is survived by one daughter, Laura Alexander; one granddaughter, Whitney Alexander; two grandsons, Raphael Alexander and Sean Hill; one great-grandson, De’Sean Brumfield; and a host of nieces and nephews, all of Bogalusa.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Johanna Hill; his father, Roy Hill; his mother, Virginia Blunt; one daughter, Renate Sanders; one sister, Doris Hill; and two brothers, Ollie and Melvin Hill.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. with interment in the Bogalusa Cemetery.
