Dora Sharp

arp, 83, a resident of Kat Kaw in the Sunlight community, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015, at her home.

She was a longtime member of Sunlight Baptist Church, where she volunteered in the church nursery, often played piano and sang in the church choir. She was a 1950 graduate of Franklinton High School, where she played basketball and played the clarinet in the marching band.

Dora retired as a loan officer from the former Washington Bank after serving in many capacities for over 30 years. She enjoyed gardening and mowing her grass and loved driving her pet dogs around her property on her UTV. Dora enjoyed life and was a real prankster to her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynette Sharp of Franklinton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Herbert Craig Sharp, and Darwin and Collette Sharp, all of Franklinton; two grandsons and spouse, James Tyler Busby, and Michael Lynn Busby and Jessica Busby; a brother and sister-in-law, Marvin Behrman Wallace and Martha Wallace of Lake Jackson, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Darwin Sharp; her parents, Marvin Enoch Wallace and Lyda Brumfield Wallace; a grandson, Chase Busby; a sister, Jeanette Daughty; and brother, Rexford Wallace.

Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and after 9 a.m. on Thursday.  A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Milton Kliesch and Rev. Sammy Smith officiating.  Burial followed in the Sunlight Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to the Sunlight Church Cemetery Fund or to a charity of your choosing.

Pallbearers were Bob Wallace, Jack Wallace, Steve Wallace, Keith Casanova, Karl Casanova and Kirk Casanova.
