James Wadsworth

James Addison “Jimmie” Wadsworth, 75, was born Oct. 10, 1939, and passed away on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, after battling a long illness.

He was a veteran and served in the U.S. Marines. He was a beloved teacher for 30 years, having spent most of his career at Bogalusa High School, and retired in 2009. He was a lifelong member of Elizabeth Sullivan United Methodist Church in Bogalusa.

The son of the late John and Emily Wadsworth, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Wadsworth; and a sister, Sarah Elizabeth Wadsworth Walton.

He is survived by his son, John Wadsworth.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, Sept. 13, from noon until 2 p.m. The funeral services will be at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Bill Moon officiating.

Interment will follow at Ellis Cemetery with military graveside services by the Magic City American Legion Post #24.
