Library turns fines into food

The food was collected as part of the “food for fines” option offered at the library. By donating food, patrons can wipe out up to $3 worth of fines. Patrons sometimes donate extra. Gene Hayman, left, center director, said he is glad to receive the donated goods. He said the center serves several hundred families in the community each month.
