Mack Knight

Mack Knight passed away into eternal peace on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, after a long battle of COPD and heart disease.

Mack honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a retired businessman and had been a resident of Slidell for many years.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Stewart Thomas; and brother, Howard Elmo Knight.

He is survived by his devoted companion, Ruby Boatner; best four-legged friend, Sugar; brother, George Michael (Pricilla) Knight; nieces, Remona Hicks and Sharon (John) Woodward; and nephews, John Knight and James (JoAnn) Knight. Mack also had four great-nieces and one great-nephew.

The family would like to thank Pat and Audie Greer for all their care and support for Mack.

Visitation will be at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Wednesday, Sept. 2, from 11 a.m. to noon. The Funeral services will start at noon, with Willard Polk officiating. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be John Knight, James Knight, John Woodward, Audie Greer and Henry Vernon.
