Mother Lillie Burton was born on Dec. 14, 1950, to Elvester L.V. Conerly Sr. and Missionary Maudine Conerly, in Clifton.

On Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, Mother Lillie Burton departed this life and exchanged ashes for beauty.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her five children, Kenneth Conerly of Ontario, Calif., Stacy Conerly of Lancaster, Texas, Patrick and Bernice Burton of McKinney, Texas, Kendra and Glenn Tennyson of DeSoto, Texas, and La’Neaka and Garland Woodard of Dallas, 14 grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her mother, Maudine Conerly; her sisters, Donna (Westley), Brenda (Glynn), Ruby, Magdalene, Fay (Sam), Helen (Waymon), Bennie and Cynthia (Tony); her brothers Laride, (Cynthia) and Ray; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 4, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton.

The funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 5, at 11 a.m., at Magee’s Temple C.O.G.I.C. with Supt. Cecealine Tate, pastor, officiating and Pastor Laride Conerly as eulogist.

Interment will be held in St. James Cemetery in Franklinton.
