Jean Marie Welcelean Singleton, age 85, passed away Aug. 3, 2015, at her residence in Bogalusa. She was a member of ESM Methodist Church. Jean was a retired RN and graduated from Leesburg School of Nursing. She worked at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Bogalusa Medical Center and the Bogalusa Heart Study for 12 Years.

She is survived by one son, Allen Richard “Ricky” Singleton III (Donna) of Bogalusa; one daughter, Jan Allyn Singleton Sanders (Roger) of Bogalusa; grandchildren, Rachele Amanda “Mandy” Jacob, Jennifer Anne Singleton, Tiffany Danielle Singleton and Heather Nicole Sanders Boyet (Dewayne); and great-grandchildren, Jace Singleton, Austin Singleton and Ethan Boyet.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Allen Richard “Chick” Singleton; parents, Constantine and Mamie Welcelean; one brother, William Welcelean; and a granddaughter, Ashley Dawn Case.

Her wishes were to be cremated, and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
