Sylvia Ophelia Wiggins, born Aug. 21, 1948, passed away July 4, 2015, at her residence at the age of 66. She was a member of the Charter Oak Apostolic Church in Pearl River.

She is survived by her children, Clerance “Hank” Singletary Jr. and his wife Lisa, Jennie Singletary Armstrong and her husband Melvin, Jene’ Singletary and Bella Wiggins; a brother, JW Rushing and his wife May and family; a sister, Maxine Rushing Kahl and family; grandchildren, Christina Singletary Rouse and her husband Isreal and family, Clerance “LiL Hank” Singletary III, Rebecca Singletary, Shea Armstrong Martin and her husband Junior and family; five great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents, Mack and Irene Provost Rushing; husbands, the Rev. Clerance Henery Singletary Sr. and SGM Charles E. Wiggins; a daughter, Jennifer Singletary; a sister, Vernie Rushing Harris; and a brother, David Rushing.

Visitation was held at the Charter Oak Apostolic Church in Pearl River on July 7, 2015, starting at 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m.

The Rev. Glenn Kennedy officiated the services, with the interment following in the Charter Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.
