Palestine Baptist Church in the Rio community hosted Steve Carrier of the Mega Force Team last Sunday, June 30. The congregation and guests alike enjoyed the inspirational message of the husband-and-wife team of Steve and Janette Carrier from Dallas.

The upbeat message of the difference Christ can make in a person’s life was marbled with humorous anecdotes and stories of real modern-day miracles.

Steve said, “People who would not ordinarily come to church come to see me break bricks or tear phonebooks. I can’t sing, but I can break stuff. That is the bait that I use to get people to come and listen. The real message begins and ends at the foot of the cross.

“Christ has changed my life. When I asked Him to come into my life and save me from my sins I knew I wanted to share my faith with as many as would listen. The work I do on the Mega Force Team dazzling people with my strength is all about bringing people into a relationship with Jesus.

“I have the opportunity to go into America’s public schools and do assembly programs. I can’t preach in the schools, but I pray, and God anoints my message. Many kids speak to me after the assembly or come to one of my evening programs at a church and give their life to Christ. I will see 1,000,000 teenagers this year.

“Statistics show that there will be 27,000,000 teen runaways in the U.S. this year. Suicide is the second leading cause of death among our youth. We all need to wake up and share the love of God with the people we come in contact with.

“In Mark, chapter 2, there were four men with a paralyzed friend. They met all sorts of obstacles in trying to get him into a place where Jesus was ministering. The tenacity and zeal the four exhibited in getting their friend to Jesus was phenomenal. I want to be tenacious like these men.

“They made a way where there was no way. Basically they tore a hole in the roof and lowered their friend down with each one holding a rope. Lord, help us have this kind of zeal!

“The greatest miracle is not miraculous healing or parting the Red Sea. The most fantastic miracle ever is still happening every day. It happens when a person accepts the free gift of forgiveness and follows Christ. People are being changed into new men and women, boys and girls by the love of Jesus Christ.

“These four men had a friend who was crippled, and Jesus healed him. Today people are crippled by their sins. They need the miracle of Jesus, and they need us to hold the rope.

“I was a sickly, skinny little kid. I couldn’t speak, and I was a cripple. The Lord healed me and gave me the opportunity to serve Him. I am in the Guinness Book of World Records. I’ve been on TV on numerous occasions. I’ve traveled the world, but none of this is worth anything without the peace of God that He gives to those who serve Him.”
