The theme for Saturday’s 2015 Fourth of July parade through downtown Bogalusa is “One Nation Under God.”

The parade starts rolling at 10 a.m. on Columbia Street and meanders its way to its conclusion at Cassidy Park. The parade is sponsored by Magic City American Legion Post 24.

Parade Grand Marshals will be WWII veterans L.C. and Hubert Terrell. They participated in the Normandy Invasion on D-Day.

After the parade, military veterans and their families will have dinner at the American Legion Home, located at 63349 Louisiana Highway 10.

The popular fireworks display is scheduled to begin 30 minutes after sunset at the Bogalusa High School Stadium.

The fireworks display is co-sponsored by the City of Bogalusa and Magic City American Legion Post 24.

“We want everybody to come out and enjoy the parade,” Magic City American Legion Post 24 Commander Buddy Fornea said. “It will be a good one.”

Fornea said the parade theme was easy to come up with.

“We’re trying to get God back in people’s minds,” Fornea said. “Christian principles were one of the things this country was founded upon.”

Friday’s holiday activities start off the weekend with the annual Paper Queen Ball at 7 p.m. at the American Legion Home. The 2015 Paper Queen is rising Pine High School senior Grace Anne Fornea, Buddy Fornea’s granddaughter. She is the 75th Paper Queen.
