James Jenkins

James Danny Jenkins, age 60 and a resident of Enon, died Friday morning, June 19, 2015, at his home. He was the owner/operator of K&D Mobile Homes and enjoyed the great outdoors. Danny was a longtime member and deacon of Enon Baptist Church. He loved playing golf and enjoyed all the great times with his golfing buddies. Danny was a huge New Orleans Saints fan and enjoyed listening to gospel and county music. He was always a loving husband, father and grandfather who cherished all the time spent with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Jenkins of Enon; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jason Jenkins and Barrett and Jessi Jenkins, all of Enon; daughter and son-in-law, Heather Jenkins-Knight and Jason Knight of Mandeville; grandson, Nick Jenkins, and his mother, Angela Barber; granddaughter, McKenzey Kate Jenkins; expected twins in December; brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Rita Jenkins of Plainview; and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oneal Jenkins and Lazelle Holloway Jenkins; sister, Carolyn Jenkins Stroud; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Albert and Laura Mizell.

A graveside funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2015, at Knight Memorial Gardens in Enon with the Rev. Chris Wheeler officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to Enon Baptist Church c/o the Blessing of the Meal fund.

The pallbearers were Ricky Culpepper, Kent Moore, Brandon Voth, Scott Dickerson and Jeremy Richardson.
