Richard Lavinghouse

Richard Glenn Lavinghouse, born Oct. 6, 1944, passed away June 11, 2015, at the Louisiana Heart Hospital at the age of 70. Richard was a retired correctional officer at the Rayburn Correctional Center.

He is survived by his wife, Opal Gaines Lavinghouse of Bogalusa; one son, Andrew Lavinghouse; one daughter, Constance Lavinghouse; a stepson, Jeffery Ried, and his wife Phyllis of Mobile; a stepdaughter, Michelle Davis, and her husband Dan of Bush; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by parents, Morris and Naomi Lott Lavinghouse; two brothers, Morris Lavinghouse Jr. and Harold Lavinghouse; and a sister, Margie.

Visitation was held at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Saturday, June 13, 2015, beginning at 9 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. The Rev. Paul Corse officiated the services. The interment followed in the Audubon Cemetery in Hickory, La.
