Chester Fornea Sr.

Chester Lloyd Fornea Sr., age 71 and a resident of Franklinton, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at his home.

He was a loving husband, daddy and paw-paw and a friend to everyone he met. Lloyd loved to fish and hunt and spend time working in his gardens.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Alford Fornea; son, Lloyd “L.J.” Fornea Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Missy and Brent Stevens; granddaughter, Madison Rene’ Stevens, who was the love of his life; grandson, Brandt Stevens, who he loved to talk deer hunting with; stepson, Byron and Theresa Stogner; step granddaughter, Crystal Paige; four great-grandchildren, Preston, Cadyn, Alyssa and Donald; sister and brother-in-law, Bobbie and David Cothern of Jayess, Miss.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry and Irene Fornea of Foxworth, Miss., Freddie and Gayla Fornea of Ocean Springs, Miss., and Eugene Fornea of Sandy Hook, Miss.; special friends, Andrew and Alice Sharp; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Fornea and Ada Mae Owens Fornea; a brother, J.W. Fornea; sister, Shirley Ikerd; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray “Butch” and Nell Alford.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 7, 2015, at Varnado United Methodist Church from 1 p.m. until the funeral service at 4 p.m., with the Rev. Larry Benson and John Dawsey officiating. Burial will follow in the T.P. Fornea Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Freddie Fornea, Terry Fornea, Eugene Fornea, Justin Stogner, Glen Yoes and Bill Ricke.
