An investigation by the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of David Peek, 54, a resident of Turkey Ridge Road in Mt. Hermon.

The testimony of victims, plus information gathered by investigators from other sources, led to Peek’s arrest.

Peek was arrested on May 28 and placed in the Washington Parish Jail. He is charged with aggravated rape and sexual battery. No bond had been set as of Friday afternoon.

Because of to the nature of the crime and the need to protect the identity of the victim, no other information will be provided.

Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal complimented his staff on a job well done.

“Our investigators acted quickly when this was brought to their attention,” Seal said. “ A thorough investigation led to Peek’s arrest, and I commend them for bringing this matter to a prompt conclusion.”
