Lori Burris

Lori Ann Burris passed away at the age of 53 on Thursday, May 21, 2015, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington. Lori was one of a kind, possessing an abundance of energy and personality. Her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins played a vital role in instilling strong family values, which Lori continued to display until her death on May 21, 2015.

Lori’s legacy will continue through her three children, Ashton Burris of Covington, Justin (Ashley) Burris of Madisonville and Courtney Burris of Houston. Her love will always be felt by her five grandchildren, Jacoby Davis, Jalen Davis, Justice Burris, Anziyah Martin and Justin Burris Jr. Her lasting memories will forever live with her siblings, Bruce (Cynthia) Burris of San Antonio, Jocelyn (Charles) Burris of Houston, Stephanie (Larry) Causey of Franklinton, Jeanne (Patrick) Burris of Abita Springs, Lucious (Terrica) Burris and Christopher (Cerrissa) Burris, both of Franklinton, and Hilton Byrd of Atlanta. She leaves heartbroken her fiancé, Lonnie Brock; and a special cousin, Demarquis Smith, who they aided in care. Her memories will also be cherished by a sister-in-law, Charlene Burris; her remaining aunts and uncles, Faye (Mitchell) Dennis, Elaine (Calvin) Tyson, John Pierre, Royan (Brenda) Burris and Gary (Leona) Burris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends

Lori was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Burris and Elma Heisser Burris; and her brothers, Jeffery Burris and Darrell Brock.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 30, 2015, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by funeral service at 11 a.m. at Sweet Home Church of Christ Holiness USA, with Minister Nakia McKay officiating and Elder W.E.
