Law enforcement participates in torch run

Bogalusa policeman Hunter Creel accepts the Special Olympics torch as it makes its way into Bogalusa at City Limits Road and Louisiana Highway 21 from Rayburn Correctional Center Monday morning. The torch was handed off at Superior Avenue Baptist Church. Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office personnel also participated in a leg. The torch headed on to Franklinton before the final stop in Hammond where the Special Olympics State Summer Games are scheduled for May 22 to 24 in Strawberry Stadium. The Opening Ceremonies are scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday.
