On Tuesday, May 5, 2015, in Harrisburg, Pa., Mrs. Edgie Lee Peters was called home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Hilton Peters, and they lived in Varnado. She was also preceded in death by three children, Oradarlene Peters, Terry Peters and Freddie Peters. She was the oldest daughter and fifth child of deceased parents, Luke and Emma Wells.

Edgie was a loving and devoted wife, mother and a faithful member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church and the community of Varnado.

She leaves to cherish her memories seven children, Larry Peters of Baton Rouge, Mary Wilson of Bogalusa, Jacqueline Sims of Oberlin, Pa., Brendolyn Peters of Harrisburg, Pa., Inez Mickle of Pageland, S.C., Warren Peters of Bogalusa and Patricia Spears of Hummelstown, Pa. Also cherishing her memories is a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the chapel and wake service from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at New Zion. The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 16, 2015, at 1 p.m. at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Jones Creek Road, Varnado, with the Rev. Linza Cotton officiating. Interment will follow at Robinson Cemetery in Varnado.
