Barry Craig Brumfield passed away at the age of 61 on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Our Lady of Angels in Bogalusa.

A lesson we can all learn from Barry: Never allow life’s struggles to steal your JOY! (Joy for Jesus; Joy for Others; Joy for YOU).

He leaves to cherish his memories his daughters, Toyanica S. Burris and Jasmin Riley of Bogalusa; grandchildren, Cardeja Burris, John Downey III and Kai’Dynce McCree; brothers, Larry C. Brumfield of Bogalusa and Charles (Terry) Brumfield of Houston; sister, Rosetta (Clifton) Brumfield-Brown of Stafford, Texas; stepbrother, Mitchell (Maria) Newell of Bogalusa; nephew and nieces, Jamal Brumfield, Kourtney Brumfield, Keashea Brumfield, Mister Brumfield, Berrica Brice, Luciane and Clifton Brown J.; a host of family and friends; the Brumfield family (California and Texas), the Brock family (Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi) and the Payne family (California and Louisiana); and companion, Darlene Ishman.

Barry was preceded in death by his daughter, Kalinda Moses; mother, Iola Brumfield; and father, Virgil Brumfield.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by a family hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Greater Salter Chapel A.M.E. Church, with the Rev. Earl Robinson officiating. The interment will be at Bogalusa Cemetery.
