In reference to the article in the Wednesday, April 29, edition of The Daily News concerning the District A cleanup day, Councilwoman Gloria Kates offered the following clarification regarding District A boundary lines. District A boundary lines extend north to City Limits Road, east to North Columbia Road, west to Austin Street along the railroad tracks and south to Third Street.

The District A Cleanup Day is Saturday. District A Councilwoman Gloria Kates requests volunteers to meet her at 1012 Poplas Street at 8 a.m. on Saturday. There will be two shifts during the cleanup.

The first shift goes from 8 a.m. to noon, while the second goes from noon to 4 p.m.

Also in the April 29 edition, the editorial on page 4 stated that the new deadline for Franklinton Citizen of the Year would be 5 p.m. on May 8, but because of scheduling conflicts, the deadline has been moved to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20.
