Bernestine Warren

Bernestine Warren was a native of Franklinton and a resident of St. Petersburg, Fla. He was born to the union of Ernst and Mamie Warren and was 78 years old. He was the fifth of eight children born to this union.

Bernestine was educated in the Washington Parish Public School System. On Nov. 9, 2010, he acknowledged Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord through the ministry of Floyd L. Mathews Sr., and in the witness of his sister Ida Mathews and his friend, Joyce Green.

He was a resident of St. Petersburg, Fla. for over 50 years. He departed this life on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Bay Front Medical Hospital under the care of Sun Coast Hospice in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Bernestine is survived by one sister, Ida W. Mathews (Floyd) of Baton Rouge; a special friend, Joyce Green of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three sisters-in-law, Albertha Warren of Baton Rouge, Marion Warren of Prairieville and Charlene Warren of Franklinton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernst and Mamie Magee Warren; two sisters, Carlee Dillon and Audrey Bickham; and four brothers, Clyde, Delmas, Willie and Ray Warren.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 2, 2015, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton. Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Franklinton is in charge of arrangements. Sign the guestbook at www.crainandsons.com.
