Dear Editor:

Mayor Wendy Perette, as member of the Finance Committee and City Council in 2014, warned of the necessity to cut back on expenditures.

In spite of her concerns the City Council passed an ordinance increasing the mayor’s salary starting in 2015.

We will never reduce our debt unless we join together and support the reduction of our ever-growing deficit. Surely the council can pass another ordinance making the mayor’s salary a more moderate sum as our present mayor suggested.
